ReCalibur Toolkit: Methods for group Work, community and nature

Looking for a new activity for a training course, workshop, youth exchange, or group session? The ReCalibur Toolkit offers a collection of practical methods that you can bring directly into your work.
The toolkit was created within ReCalibur, an international Erasmus+ project exploring how youth work can strengthen people’s connection with nature, support communities, and create space for creativity, wellbeing, and meaningful learning.
It is designed for youth workers, trainers, facilitators, and other professionals working with young people. The toolkit connects non-formal education, creativity, community learning, reflection, and ecopsychology — exploring our relationship with nature and the world around us.
Inside, you will find activities for getting to know a group, building trust, mindfulness, reflection on learning, storytelling, active listening, creativity, and developing a deeper connection with nature. Methods include Earth Walk Rebooted, Find Your Tree, Voices of Nature, The River of Learning, Nature Diaries, Positive Gossip, Gallery of Belonging, and From Ego to Eco.
Some activities can be used as short interventions during a workshop, while others are suitable for longer learning programmes or outdoor processes. You can choose and adapt them depending on your group, context, and the topic you want to explore.
Explore the ReCalibur Toolkit and find a method for your next learning activity.
