🎲 EduGame: Expansion – When Learning Turns into Play

The EduGame: Expansion project brings a new dimension to education — through learning by playing.
Its goal is to further develop, translate, share, and promote game-based learning solutions as an effective approach to teaching and learning in both formal and non-formal education.

The project is co-funded by the European Union with the support of the Estonian National Agency, bringing together partners from different countries who believe that play can be one of the most powerful educational tools of our time.

🧩 Discover Our Games – Ready to Use!

By visiting the project page, you can explore a collection of educational games and game scenarios ready for immediate use in the classroom, in groups, during training sessions, or workshops.
Each game is designed to develop critical thinking, cooperation, communication, and creativity, while offering both fun and meaningful learning experiences.

🔴 All games are free to download as print-2-play materials, or you can order physical copies to use in your youth work or educational activities.

💬 The materials are available in Bulgarian, English, Estonian, German, Latvian, Portuguese, Russian, and Slovak.

🌍 Education That Inspires and Connects

EduGame: Expansion was built through close collaboration between partners across Europe.

Kick-off Meeting – Bratislava, Slovakia

7–10 December 2023

EduGame: Expansion officially started with a joint kick-off meeting of the project partners in Bratislava. During the first international meeting, we agreed on the way of working together, the project timeline, and our shared expectations. A significant part of the programme was dedicated to the educational games themselves, their concepts, testing plans, and further development. The partners also discussed how the games would be adapted to different national and educational contexts. The meeting created space for joint planning as well as for getting to know the partner organisations better. Bratislava therefore became the starting point of our shared journey from the first game concepts to the final educational tools.

Transnational Project Meeting – Latvia

The second international project meeting took place in Latvia and was hosted by our partner organisation Piedzīvojuma Gars. During the meeting, we had the opportunity to get to know the work and educational approaches of our hosts more closely. An important part of the programme was testing the upcoming games and reflecting together on their further development. The partners also discussed the current state of the project, upcoming tasks, and expectations for the next period. The meeting created space to share experiences from national testing and to look at what was already working well and what still needed adjustment. Alongside the working sessions, it was also a valuable opportunity to reconnect with the partnership and enjoy the atmosphere of non-formal education.

Evaluation Meeting – Peso da Régua, Portugal

The final evaluation meeting of EduGame: Expansion took place in beautiful Peso da Régua, in the heart of Portugal’s Douro Valley. The partners met after approximately two and a half years of joint work, during which we tested, revised, translated, and shared educational games with our local communities. The project resulted in 12 educational games available in several languages and designed for use with young people, teachers, trainers, and youth workers. The games address topics such as bullying, digital security, social inclusion, resource management, creativity, pitching, and more. During the meeting, we evaluated the project process, its results, experiences from testing, and possibilities for the future use of the created materials. The final meeting was also a space to close the shared process and reflect on everything that had been created throughout the project.

🧩 EduGame: Expansion is an international project co-funded by the European Union and implemented with the support of Noorteprogrammide Keskus.
The project introduces innovative educational games for youth workers, teachers, and trainers that foster competence development through experiential and playful learning approaches.
